Privacy policy

Scope

This policy covers DatingChoice.eu and its reader-account features. It does not govern dating services or other third-party websites linked from our pages.

Account information

If you create an account with email and password, we process your email address, internal account identifier, authentication events and account timestamps. If you choose Google registration, we also receive the basic profile information Google makes available for sign-in, which may include your name and profile image. We use this information to create, secure and support the account you request.

Authentication is provided by Supabase. Passwords are handled by the authentication provider; DatingChoice does not receive or store a readable copy of your password. Google also processes information when you choose Google sign-in under Google’s own privacy terms.

Verification and security emails

Email verification and password-reset messages are delivered through a transactional email provider configured by DatingChoice. That provider processes the recipient address and technical delivery information for the purpose of sending and protecting those messages.

Information you choose to send

The contact form prepares an email in your own email application. It does not submit or store the form contents on DatingChoice servers. If you email us, your email provider and ours process the address, message and any information you include. Please do not send passwords, payment-card data, identity documents or sensitive dating-service account information.

Hosting and security logs

Our hosting, authentication, network and security providers may process technical data such as IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamp and diagnostic or security information to deliver and protect the website and reader accounts.

Session storage

When you sign in, the account service stores strictly necessary session information in your browser so that you remain signed in and can securely access your account. See the cookie policy.

Analytics, advertising and affiliate links

With your permission, DatingChoice uses Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, page use, approximate location, device type and referral sources. Analytics is disabled by default and does not load if you decline. You can change your choice through “Cookie settings” in the website footer. See the cookie policy for details. Some outbound links may contain affiliate identifiers, and destination providers or affiliate networks may process referral information under their own policies. See our affiliate disclosure.

Retention and security

Account information is normally retained while the account remains active and for a limited period afterward where reasonably needed for security, dispute handling, legal obligations or backup integrity. Emails are retained only as reasonably needed to answer an enquiry or maintain appropriate records. No system is completely secure, so use a unique password and protect access to your email and Google accounts.

Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, restrict, object to, export or delete personal data. You can sign out or change an email-account password through the account area. To request account deletion or exercise another privacy right, email contact@datingchoice.eu. We may need to verify that the request relates to your account.

Optional welcome preferences

Our welcome screen asks how you describe your gender and your adult age range. Both answers are optional: choose “Prefer not to say” for either question to enter without sharing that answer. We do not ask for your birth date. The choices are remembered in session storage for this tab's visit and can be changed using “Your welcome preferences” in the footer. If you accept analytics cookies, selected answers are sent to Google Analytics as self-reported audience information. “Prefer not to say” sends no value for that answer. These answers are not inferred, do not determine access to the site, and are not added to your reader account. This optional survey is not age verification.

Children

DatingChoice and its reader accounts are intended for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when site features, providers or legal obligations change. The current version and update date will remain on this page. Privacy questions can be sent to contact@datingchoice.eu.
